Is there a difference between file-based (legacy) project format and directory-based (preferred) project format in terms of IDE performance/efficiency?

I don't know, and moreover I'm not sure anybody still uses the legacy format. I think it's safe to say that you should migrate your project to the new format regardless :slightly_smiling_face:

By the way, if there really are performance penalties with the old format, I doubt they will ever be fixed now.
