Can somebody explain me why some IntelliJ updates work with the in app updater and sometimes I have to download a new version from the website? What are changes the internal updater can’t apply?

@passsy it depends on if/when jetbrains provides an incremental update from your version to the new version. sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. it’s much better than in the past.

It can update any version and even install EAPs
