Just raised an issue on kotlin yt to making npm publishing functionality natively available via kotlin js and multiplatform plugins. Vote if that's something that'd be of use to you.

Hi @Big Chungus! Exciting stuff, thank you so much for filling a need of the community! At the current time, we don’t have the capacity to adopt your plugin into the core Kotlin/JS plugin. I still want to make sure we support you with maintaining this project.

I’m going to create a shared group with the relevant folks from the side of the Kotlin/JS team, to get you a channel for discussion topics like DSL design / conventions and related topics directly from the folks building the JS target.

I hope that will help with making the experience for users of the npm-publish plugin feel as “native” as possible! 🙂

Understandable. I'm sure you have your hands full trying to stabilize ir backend right now. Maybe we'll get back to this idea at a later date when that's stabilized and adopted. Happy to maintain a separate plugin for the time being.
