I've heard repeatedly that Jetbrains folks are working on improvements to the JS compiler backend to bring things into a post-ES5 world.
Not quite sure what the status is, because they're (understandably)// hesitent to make public commitments

10/19/2019, 2:39 AMJS support with Kotlin JS is far behind. The Kotlin JS team could synchronise JS support with WASM support, although that is unlikely to happen unfortunately.
