I've heard repeatedly that Jetbrains folks are working on improvements to the JS compiler backend to bring things into a post-ES5 world.

Not quite sure what the status is, because they're (understandably)// hesitent to make public commitments

JS support with Kotlin JS is far behind. The Kotlin JS team could synchronise JS support with WASM support, although that is unlikely to happen unfortunately.
