anyone dealt with this error before?
I have specified target to 1.8 in gradle and also in kotlin compiler target...

Add the following to the android closure of your module's build.gradle file:

compileOptions {
        sourceCompatibility = 1.8
        targetCompatibility = 1.8
    }

    kotlinOptions {
        jvmTarget = "1.8"
    }
