Ray Wenderlich Android Apprentice book looks promising but it is insanely expensive even in PDF and I didn't find relevant opinions about it

I’m super-biased as I tech edited that book and wrote several chapters of Kotlin Apprentice as well, but we worked our asses off on that thing.
Also, there may or may not be a 2nd edition in the works soon, you might want to see if there are related discounts in the next few weeks 🤫

I will also recommend Kotlin in Action, it’s coming at it from a very different level of assumed knowledge (Kotlin apprentice was assuming you were basically at “So…what are computers?“), so if you’ve already got knowledge of a couple other compiled languages, it’s a really awesome book

I am not biased as @Ellen Shapiro is...I haven't used that book specifically but I've been extremely happy with several other books that I've bought from Ray Wenderlich. That would be my #1 recommended set of resources

I will take a look on Kotlin in Action too, I have a Safari Books subscription so I have access to the book. I have experience with Ruby and Javascript so I guess I will be fine even though they are not compiled, a little extra challenge is always rewarding
