so this channel is really useless
# getting-started
g
so this channel is really useless
k
What?
s
nani?
g
ohoh
kuku
k
What am I missing here?
s
Nothing afaik, I also don’t know what they’re talking about
@Giulio you wanna give us some more constructive feedback?
k
What does nani mean then?
g
yes before tell what it means thanks
then my feedback
s
@karelpeeters sorry, it’s just Japanese for “what?“, I was just underscoring how the message made no sense
g
what message made no sense
s
yours, dude
g
that this channel is useless
ok so you don't want any feedback
you are convinced that i am mad
and i am stupid
sure
perfect
a
@Giulio why is this channel useless?
g
why people here reply only with a uselessstackoverflow? what kind of reaction is to tag a question with stackoverflow? does it mean: you won't find any help here, just go to stackoverflow and don't disturb us? is it what it means?
a
people reply with a stackoverflowwhen your question is better suited for stackoverflow. This can be for various reasons, for example when its not really kotlin releated, other people can benefit from the answer too (slack isn't that easy to search through compared to stackoverflow) or that the bigger size of question/answers on stackoverflowis better for this kind of question (remember, after all this is just a chat with some gimmicks)
do you have a specific question in mind?
g
the question I have posted here today and I have deleted because it received this kind of "attention"
a
What was your question about?
k
That's not a Kotlin question, that's an Android question.
g
ok, I don't want to waste more
time
I think this channel is useless
and that it is a Kotlin question
now I delete it again
a
This question is more about how android works, rather than kotlin itself
g
please don't ask me to rewrite it
k
It is useless for android questions, as it's for people getting started with Kotlin.
If you can convert the same code to Java and still have the same question it is not a Kotlin question.
g
I think it is useless for people like me who are getting started with Kotlin
this is my opinion
you have a different one
o
@Giulio it is not very welcome to be that offensive. please calm down and try to understand the culture of the community that you joined. Being rude doesn’t give you anything. Your question is indeed Android related, not about Kotlin at all. Please visit #android and check topic there. Slack dedicated to Android exists and can help you.

g
do you respect other people opinion
you don't understand me and you talk about the community culture
lies
again you don't even accept a feedback
o
You’ve accepted code of conduct when you joined this Slack. I’d ask you to may be read it after all.
g
without saying that I am offensive
yes I am not violating any code of conduct I am writing
my feedback about the fact that the reaction to my question was very cold
o
It may be cold, but it was not offensive. It may be cold, because it is not related to the community you joined. People patiently pointed it to you several times.
g
this is your opinion again
and I am patiently pointing out that mine is different
that's it- end of the discussion, very simple
o
Your opinion might be different to others, but you joined this community, not the community came to your house.
a
What would you expect from us in such a case?
g
and I am leaving after posting a feedback
it is offensive to disregard a feedback of a person who is leaving
like is offensive to clap
o
Thank you for the feedback, we really listen. Sometimes we don’t accept feedback, but often we do. This time we don’t agree that your behavior is okay in this community.
g
because this community doesn't accept the truth
🤥 1
😂 3
o
That’s your opinion 🙂
g
yes it is
sure, and laughing is again offensive
o
Good! Let’s have our opinions and not be aggressive. ☮️
g
like it was clapping when I wrote I am leaving
perfect
thanks, bye

o
I think it was a “wave” emoji, but we’ll never know.
Wave is like a gesture saying bye.
a
I wonder why they kept deleting the question when they really wanted an answer in this channel
