alright, I'll try to find something 👍 thanks
s
kinda curious, though, was Rust your first language?
s
it went like this: - a week of C++, getting discouraged and quitting - a few months of Python, actually getting what programming is about - functional adventures with Haskell and Clojure - Rust
it's been four years now. I'm actually very dense and a slow learner
s
ah I gotcha
everyone’s got their own pace
s
persistence is key
s
v true
s
actually, maybe learning stuff in the wrong order/using wrong resources contributes to my sluggishness 🤔 if you ever think about learning Haskell, don't read "Learn You A Haskell" :)
s
lmao you’re not the first person to tell me that actually
I’ll keep it in mind if I ever wanna go down the functional rabbit hole 👍
s
The Book is a great resource though. http://haskellbook.com/
s
kinda curious now, what drew you to kotlin?
s
actually three posts but
s
ahh I see
s
I wanna try to implement this and fail miserably :^)
s
best of luck, my friend

…For what it’s worth I enjoyed Learn You a Haskell. Different explanations work well for different people 🙂
s
thanks!
I enjoyed it too my head kept exploding reading it though and I haven't learned much
d
I definitely think it expects a certain level of experience / readiness for certain concepts. I wouldn’t recommend it to a beginner. Hope you enjoy your time with Kotlin though!
s
thanks!
