I think there is a typo in kotlindoc for trimStart(), it shouldn't say " and trailing".

This is a so-called patchset branch, it doesn't reflect the latest changes in 1.2.0.

The fix is in the docs on site now http://kotlinlang.org/api/latest/jvm/stdlib/kotlin.text/trim-start.html and it will get to the artifacts in the nearest update
