dropwizard seems to be a glue, not backed by a big company. why do people choose it over spring?

Just use vert.x - it is by far the best framework i have ever worked with - 5/5

qq - why choose a route backed by a big company? Also - Spring is v slow to start up and can be massively bloated. In the new world, cattle service deployments into clusters like K8S will assume that your service will take only a few ms to boot - I've seen spring boot services take >30s to scan the classpath for random stuff to instantiate.
