What is the intended purpose of the #compose-ui channel compared to the other compose ones? It looks like it was created by someone not at Google or Jetbrains, and has no channel topic, but was mentioned “officially” here.

Hi! Given the description, it aimed for sharing Compose-powered UIs, not for technical questions. But I’ve quickly looked through posts, and looks like people don’t actively use the channel for that purpose. It is also confusing. Probably we should consider shutting it down.

Ah, i see. Do we really need a separate channel for demos? I’ve seen a lot of demo sharing in the other compose channels too. And if the answer is yes, then what if we rename the channel to something like #compose-ui-demos?

I'm the creator of the channel. I made it around 10-11 months ago for the purpose of sending screenshots related to user interfaces made in Compose. If you guys want to delete it I have no issue with it. If you guys want to keep it I also have no issue with it.
Zach, if you are aware of a different channel which users can share UI made in Compose there is no need for the channel. I guess #random could be another viable option.

I'm fine with keeping the channel around but I think it needs a better name. “Compose UI” is almost synonymous with “Compose” in many contexts and doesn't convey the purpose. We should also give it a topic/subject.

Hey guys, I changed the name #compose-ui-showcase as I feel like it makes the most sense. Hopefully this can help eliminate off-topic posts. Cheers, thebluepandabear

Ok, thanks! I suggest we add a topic. It can be the same as description.

Thanks!
