I just need to point out that using this project means not only that you’re ripping off artists (despite the tiny disclaimer at the end), you’re also in violation of the terms of use of at least your Spotify account. I don’t think this is an OK thing to pursue. Artists are in enough financial problems as is today (due to the pandemic disabling concerts, which is their primary source of revenue), without people making it easy to steal their music. So, this project is a) encouraging copyright violations/piracy, b) violating the terms of use you’ve agreed to when creating your Spotify account (probably the same for other services, I didn’t check) , and c) morally wrong because it’s stealing from a group that is in fact struggling right now - at least if you look below the top percent or so. If I were you, I’d delete the repo.

@Petter Måhlén I understand and agree with what you are saying, but: • This project doesn't encourage copyright and piracy. It never makes a user or any person to distribute any content publically. • This project doesn't download copyright content from Spotify. Instead it just uses their metadata which is allowed to be used using their developer api. • No one is forced or encouraged to even use this project , It is just a pet project which is freely available and shows how one can exploit Metadata from such services to download content from youtube or other sources which may be an offence as per their country laws and we don't download content from directly youtube ourselves instead use services like ytmp3.com, or youtube-mp3.com, which do similar things. While YouTube has attempted legal actions against such sites, the lawsuits ultimately failed . • This project in no way cracks/bypasses spotify's security mechanism. • If you're distributing this music to others, it's definitely illegal and anyone doing so should stop before any action is taken on them. •
Github: Although we did initially take the project down, we understand that just because code can be used to access copyrighted works doesn't mean it can't also be used to access works in non-infringing ways.
• So at End , it's not upto me what a user decides to do with this project.

proper claim, proper response. In the end just be a good person

if i understand these claims in the description right:
- Save your Data ,by not Streaming your Fav Songs Online again & again(Just Download Them!)
- No ADS!
Then that is in violation of the Spotify terms of use: https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/end-user-agreement/#9-user-guidelines.
You’re using that as advertising for your product, even to the point of capitalising the “ADS” part. I’m sorry, but I think you’re splitting hairs, and that even if you can get away legally with saying it’s up to people what they do, you’re even asking people for money to be able to continue with the project. This is IMO clearly morally wrong. I guess I’m not going to convince you, and I’m not the police, so I’ll let this rest here.

Yeah , I guess you will get more info by reading actual working of the app, that Spotify's Content is not ripped off , its encrypted(DRM) and as pointed earlier ,this app is not in any way reverse-engineering or breaking their security.... it finds youtube content using spotify's metadata like name, singer etc (which we can use)... so this app is as illegal as youtube-dl which is even resurfaced after a DMCA claim. And the Part about
CAPITALISNG
, I am not asking for any subscriptions , add-ons,etc. that donations are used to pay for server/proxy maintainance used in web-app and my time(ONLY IF USER WANTS(NO COMPULSIONS)). I have even publicized the ananlytics I collect from the app. Anyway I dont see any point on arguing here , I am very open to discuss your concerns over a PM, and If I seemed rude/ignorant ,I am sorry it wasnt my intention.
