Stationhead is looking for a lead developer to head up our Android team. The position is full-time on-site in Brooklyn, NY. Salary is 110-160k + equity, with unlimited PTO and a flexible work-from-home policy. Stationhead is social radio, a platform that lets anyone DJ their own radio station from the palm of their hand with live talk, guests, and chat. Stationhead is bringing real human connection back to music, offering an alternative to sterile top-40s and algorithmic playlists. We work with streaming providers such as Spotify and Apple Music so the service is licensed and drives revenue for artists. We have some of the biggest names in the music industry as advisors and investors, and have collaborated with A-list labels and artists—many of whom visit to say hi and use the studio in our office. You will be tech lead for a team of 3-6 building out our android app. It’s a brand new codebase, so you’ll be responsible for making architecture choices to ensure the app is built on a good foundation. We have a fairly mature and proven app on iOS, so building a solid, maintainable, and well-tested codebase is more important than rushing features out the door. This is an Individual Contributor position, not an Engineering Manager position, so you will be leading the project and as well as guiding and mentoring junior developers, but you will not have any formal people or project management duties.
