JavaFX is indeed one of the best desktop graphics frameworks and I came to Kotlin through TornadoFX as well. Sadly the component base is not actively developed anymore, the problems with cross-platform distributions significantly hinder the deployment and tornado does not want to move to modular design and JVM 9+. I prefer it  to web-visualization, but it seems like the later is the future.

Let me see if I can find some... I'll get back to you. Unfortunately this is such uncharted territory that no standards really exist. This is so painfully the case that the investigation behind the Uber crash revealed some pretty wild truths
