I've externalized some strings (that I used for classpath versions) to a kts file, but they stopped being recognized after the upgrade, and I have no clue why.
Any suggestions or resources?

Go give a look at version catalogs. You can use toml files or do it in settings.g.kts

IDE support isn't perfect yet but it is definitely the path forward
