I might try and raise an issue later today when I have more details, but my builds suddenly hang after the composeUp task after upgrading to 4.8 (when using the docker plugin https://github.com/avast/gradle-docker-compose-plugin). It appears to finish the task normally, but then just sits there IDLE forever. --debug just shows the daemon collecting memory stats periodically.

@james_bassett that's weird I had the same problem. so I reverted back to Gradle 4.6
