Note that Vert.x Starter can create skeleton projects (similar to the Spring Initializr): http://start.vertx.io/ . Unfortunately Vert.x Starter doesn't support Kotlin 😞.

the language option is a dropdown which only contains Java, so they'll probably support it at some point, otherwise language would not have been an option.
