It’s strange - Room tries to do too much and it actually makes it harder to use. You opt-in to something like this auto migration because it sounds easy, and then you try to do something slightly off the beaten path, and you have to jump through hoops, or it’s simply not supported. I feel like Room is targeted at people who don’t know relational databases, but it’s not doing them any favours. I prefer to write my sql in sql.

this is so true. I wish i wud have been smarter and opted for this instead of room. Now, to migrate is quite hard, since schema already has 20+ tables and daos
