Hey <@U35HN2RGQ> you should advertise your talk
# advent-of-code

Hey @todd.ginsberg you should advertise your talk
j
the one about "look at great things in java11 and 15"? Yeah, I enjoyed that. Also - respect for refraining from saying "kotlin has it for years now" even once. I wouldn't be able to stop myself 🙂
t
I’m doing an informal talk with the Chicago Kotlin User Group about Advent of Code! It’ll be an intro to AoC, some lessons learned, and then we will do some mob programming. :). I’m on the road today (daughter back to college 😭) and will post something later today!

Also, thanks for the kind words on that Java talk. Hah.

@wakingrufus maybe tweet this link and include @ericwastl and he might retweet it :)

looks like you need to be a member of Chicago KUG to see that.
b
@wakingrufus isn't the CKUK meetup page open for all ?
w
Its is. You just need to join the group to sign up, its open registration
d
I got in without a problem but I do have a meetup account already.
w
You do need a meetup account to sign up
j
ahhh it'll be 2am for me, I think I'm going to pass attendance, but I'd love to see the video later!

@Jakub Gwóźdź how do you pronounce your name?
d
It might be something like this. Click the speaker in the Polish box. Google Translate
It sounds to me like "Guh-vooz'd-ch"
j
Hahaha! So for over a decade now I work with various western companies, from U.S., Ireland, Scotland, Norway. I appreciate the effort of coworkers trying to pronounce my last name, but usually I say "Yakoob is fine" 🙂 It's exactly like David linked to google translate 🙂

t
Haha cool. I hope I said your name right. I really really tried to practice your last name beforehand but felt I wasn’t getting it so I just used your first name.
j
Haha it was great. 🙇 Thanks for the mention 🙂
t
Your stuff is great! Thanks for doing it and I have so much respect for all the work you did on it. 🙏

It was fun to see how you format your solution template. And I learned some new Kotlin functions. Thanks for the session! I'll definitely need to read through your blog posts before this year's AoC starts.
