Can jasync do some basic object mapping like JDBI (any project I am unaware of).

No. Jasync itself is just a driver at the moment. I guess it is possible to create a mapping module or integrate existing one, but the ones I checked relies on jdbc. There is however a module for spring jasync-r2dbc. So if you're using spring you can actually get some kind of mapping.
