unless you're talking about how they ignore the native UI toolkit and render everything themselves which i'm sure everyone will be happy to abandon standards-controlled specs for the language, layout, and styling that's used for putting faith in a single company now dictating all three

Only need to look at what happened when Dart (used by Hummingbird and Flutter) was introduced. The language failed to receive acceptance from JS devs (aka the infamous Dart email fiasco - <http://lambda-the-ultimate.org/node/4355> ), and was attempting to promote vendor lock in ( <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vendor_lock-in> ) with a VM in Chromium (for a time).
