Presentation proposal for KotlinConf submitted.

I've send one too 😎
t
@altavir awesome! What's the topic if you don't mind me asking?
a
Here is the annotation:
Kotlin is a good candidate for the next language for science in general and physics in particular. In this talk I would like to describe some applications of Kotlin in particle physics (analysis automation, Monte-Carlo simulations and general computations), discuss barriers for Kotlin adoption in scientific community and present recent results of scientific library development in Kotlin (kmath and some other projects).
t
@altavir I was thinking about proposing a second talk on positioning Kotlin for a post-"data science" world. It sounds like you already got it covered for the most part.
a
I like the concept of post-"data-science". In this case I will present some work that is already done. Also I want to rise some questions about problems that kotlin presents to sceince (compared to C++ and Julia), migration issues, etc, whatever I can squeeze in the allotted time.
t
I could have a lot of fun with that premise. But I've been finding demos and actual examples have a more positive response and impact. You can always wrap it all up with a narrative to make your point.
I'm curious to see what you come up with. It sounds like you have a lot of topics to choose from to squeeze into 45 minutes
a
Yes. That is why I want to try to focus on already working projects. With some infusion from kmath of course.
