JBR annual highlights are out: https://research.jetbrains.org/annual-report/2020/. Some of it is about Kotlin.

I wish there would be more details though…
a
Actually it was designed as a short report. I am sure people would be delighted to give more detailed information. You can tell me what group are you interested in, and I can forward it. Our own detailed report is here: https://npm.mipt.ru/confluence/display/PUB/Report+2020 (parts of it are in Russian).

Paper-analyser and Intelligent Collaboration Tools Lab
that's more or less the kind of things I'm working on 😄
a
OK, I will drop the information to JBR manager, maybe she can get the direct contact.
b
thanks!
I don't know how open these things are supposed to be
is it like Google X where they keep everything for themselves?
a
They are mostly open. JBR is not formally a part of JB and there are not corporate secrets The problem is as always with scientists themselves, they just do not make efforts to popularize their research.
b
yep…
so how is it related to JetBrains?
a
As far as I remenber, the groups you've mentioned are fully sponsored by JB and use JB facilities in Peterspurg. Some other groops are partially sponsored, some (like ours) have only loose cooperation and association.
b
what kind of benefits to you get (in your lab)?
a
We got a small research grant last year and they sponsored summer internship this summer (the most prominient result is the release of Plotly.kt). The rest is information cooperation (PR, common youtube channel, common site, etc).

nice

Is the program open for corporate researchers as well?
a
@holgerbrandl I am not sure about what are the rules if there are any. But our lab is open for collaboration. Also If you need contacts of any other laboratories, just tell me.
And there is an actual contact info on the site: info@research.jetbrains.org. I am not sure who is on the other side of it though.

Thx Alexander!
