Material3 seems to break the existing themings. If you want to switch from Material2 to Material3, you have to rework every single composable and rethink the existing typography and coloring scheme. Is that the way it's supposed to be?

I've already read the article and watched the video, and I stand by my statement that it is anything but easy to convert an existing app to Material3. I'm trying right now and running into problems in many places. The easiest example is that external libraries that bring composables are basically not compatible and this is due to the fact that the existing theme is not touched, but instead everything exists again in the package material3. All components must be replaced

Sorry, without context I didn't give you much to go on. I agree with you, seems like a rather major change and it'll cause a good bit of pain for everyone to switch over short term.

It seems that a switch in non compose ui is less painfull. Hopefully there will be simpler way for compose in the future.
