Adding elevation to a Card should make the shadows for you

We solved this by creating a modifier which draws the shadow into the canvas.

You can also wrap your composable in a Surface which has elevation as a parameter.
If you only need the shadow in a specific direction such as bottom, I would recommend using the canvas to do that.
