Is it fine to use two different kinds of ViewModel for the same Composable ? This way I will have more granularity.

I've seen plenty of codebases where you have a single screen, but multiple VMs. I'd say it's fine when it makes sense.

I may have misunderstood something, as it seems that I can only have one active `viewmodel()`per Composable.

In this snippet, it seems that updating the boardViewModel has no effect.
