"In backlog: Improve component parity with mdc-android" I wish this was "In focus", Migrating to Compose is going to be difficult when there are still common features missing vs. the old components.

Yes, it’s a new version of Material design, which announced with Android 12, there are no components implementation even for Android Views (aka material-components-android library)

it looks like a mandatory list for 1.0 release, not the roadmap for 2.x etc 😞

    It’s not a roadmap for 2.0

yeah whatever. but no animated transitions, no material components and performance issues... looks like alpha for me, not the product

there are material componetns, many of them, just not all
you can do animations, just no automatic transitions, but there is already work on animation transition for navigation (probably some alphas)
every project has ways to improve performance, it would be impossible to release any product as stable
1.0 release doesn’t mean it has everything, it’s just mean it has stable API

This is exactly why we published the roadmap, to be transparent about what isn't there yet so you can make an informed decision.
