I'm having trouble getting compose previews in android studio when using compose

1.0.0-rc02

(or rc1). it used to with

1.0.0-beta09

. I've tried AGP

7.0.0-beta05

(current studio beta) and

7.1.0-alpha03

(current studio canary). I'm getting the following error. any ideas?
