Does anyone know why the typed in text here is underlined for an EditText?
d
It shows up in the standard Android EditText as well, it's to indicate which word would be replaced when tapping one of the autocomplete suggestions on the keyboard

Ok. Makes sense. So I just have to chalk it up to android itself. UX will be thrilled. LOL

oh I didn't know that, but just learning that twitter does the same. if they can do it I can too. Tell your UX guys to open a bug in google lol

This is shown by the IME and turning it off will result in a bad user experience, especially when inputting scripts that require conversion such as CJK, where the underline indicates which part of the text to convert.
f
what's CJK ?
