@Adam Powell mentioned that they had a discussion to move on with artifacts without updating all the examples and tutorials. That would speed up the development and we can benefit from it faster. This is true for devXX artifacts. I assume when compose hits the alpha/beta they will invest time to keep the examples up to date.

I thought dev03 was still more or less a full sync point, but I might be wrong. I'll ask around after the holidays
the pitch that @kioba mentioned wasn't that docs, tutorials and samples wouldn't be updated at all, but rather that they might be updated on a different cadence from artifact releases during the -devXX period. Details still TBD

Oh that’s better. Understandable that it is a drag, but, maybe it wouldn’t be if dev was done on a Pet Store or similar sample..

As far as I know, dev03 isn't "pushed" in Gradle when you are in dev02...

each release version is immutable; if you use an older version while working with an older tutorial everything will still be consistent and work
