😞 Maybe you can evaluate to do a remote session with developers around the world?

I don’t want to speak for Google overall, but I’ll just comment real quickly on this from my point of view. I think it’s a big bummer that this is US-only, BUT being able to do these focus group sessions in person is really important and coordinating international travel to get it done can be prohibitively expensive. Remote sessions could work for some things but it is challenging with the format and also to prevent leaks and stuff like that. I know that we often do focus groups in other countries (and we have for compose specifically in the past) but it usually means the researcher themselves travels to that country and conducts the study there. Please try not to take this as an indication that we only care about US as that is certainly not the case, but sometimes logistics mean that a single study will need to be constrained in terms of geography.

If you're still interested in research studies by December, what about doing a few of them in Copenhagen at KotlinConf, or the day after for interested people?

I think you should make a remote option. Many people can offer valuable information, I also think it will be cheaper but I'm no expert

The KotlinConf idea is an awesome one - will look into that.

And +1 to @Leland Richardson [G] we generally do remote studies as well because we look at global data. Depending on what type of study it is, how early stage, and what type of tasks we have, we have some that need to be in person, and some that don’t.
