I did some searching, but does anyone have a quick link/suggestion on how to configure `ktlint` to use the formatting rules that are default to Android Studio and used by the Android Studio formatter?

there's no way at the moment. The integration with AS is limited, so just few rules can be configured to match both ktlint and AS

however you could <https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/15057-ktlint-unofficial-|AS plugin> for ktlint that would format the files according to ktlint codestyle
