I run into the same issue as this Issue with the kotest plugin.
I just face this issue in one of my 2 projects.
Did someone else have this issue and found a workaround?

4.2.3 which will be published shortly has better error handling, so rather than that generic message, we will see the true error. Then we'll know what is causing it.

I do indeed, I think this is a great project. we are currently using a lot of groovy with the spockframework and kotest is definitely a very good alternative for that with kotlin 🙂
