One thing on the edutools that I do (but isn't really supported nicely) is to use github classroom to host the course (student content). I want to get students used to using git(hub) as well. The experience could be a bit tighter

We used github classroom last year with standard idea tools. I do not remember principial problems.

Thank you for sharing this, @pdvrieze! Is there any particular feedback I can pass along to the EduTools team?

What I currently do is to use the preview course and then put that on github. That works (more or less - there were compatibility issues reusing last year's version with this year's edutools). The export to zip creates a json file. I would like an "export as student project" function that would be an intended (and supported) target. It may be a matter of renaming the option.
I actually use adapted versions of the koans (pacing features) split into multiple separate exercises (for different weeks)
