When will IDEA support compose preview?
Or can I use Android Studio to preview it?

The launch is fast enough in desktop, and preview will still going to rebuild so there's currently no real benefit (i.e. it won't render realtime like XML). Android used to be bulky and uses CPU heavily in launching, so it makes a difference.
