Hi, I have a little experience with Flutter and more experience with Kotlin, I like kotlin better, I learned about compose on Android, from what I saw in the comments, compose for WEB is different, will it ever be the same? How long do you estimate 1, 2 or more years?

They announced they are moving to make web canvas based, instead of their old approach of separate web components. This will allow alignment of Compose between all platforms. It looks like we might see this as soon as Compose 1.1, but probably with an alpha tag.

There's already an example in the repo, so... soon? https://github.com/JetBrains/compose-jb/tree/master/examples/minesweeper

We need a sticky to link to. These posts are coming in thick and fast.

Looks like they took that sample down lol

Too much hype 😀

...or not enough? 🤔

Well that thing also had ios and macos compose support, which got people crazy excited. Naturally those were much less ready than web widgets, so maybe jb decided they're not ready for that kind of commitment to be forced on them by the rising hype.

Yep, in all seriousness, probably very sensible; the last thing JB devs personally need when developing these techs is internet pundits pointing out all the bits they haven't finished yet at varying degrees of patience. I'm as excited as anyone, but quality takes as long as it takes, and these are not trivial frameworks.

...get these right and Kotlin/Compose Multiplatform is going to be an awesome stack 👌

I’m still extremely hyped for compose web. As long as it allows sharing between android and desktop, I’m super in and my team will adopt it.

It's no use for Google to push dart, we want kotlin. 😅

I mean the great thing about git is that it’s an archive of everything that’s been done, meaning that the examples are still there, just a few commits back
