Does anyone know what this new Gradle plugin named org.jetbrains.kotlin.multiplatform.pm20 is?
It was just created for version 1.5.20-M1 (no prior release):https://plugins.gradle.org/plugin/org.jetbrains.kotlin.multiplatform.pm20

Heh good question! I think seeing that 2nd issue's original title "Kotlin Project Model 2.0" piqued my interest while looking at other multiplatform issues I follow. And that first issue's title just looked relevant to the Gradle plugin release that was posted (plus it was resolved on the same day!)
