I wonder what is the current status of the Wasm target and CLion. Maybe I would have better luck running the compiler manually without using CMake…

Did you try supplied sample (https://github.com/JetBrains/kotlin-native/tree/master/samples/html5Canvas) first?

no but I expected the “hello world” example created by CLion to work…

CLion and cross-compilation not yet fully supported, but you may try CLI
