I'll put it this way. We share a feeling that there is a lot of code that is being written in C/C++/Go nowadays that should not and need not be written in them. Kotlin is not for everybody either, but it is pragmatic and caters to a larger developer base.

C++ is currently (ab)used for many tasks, and for some of those, mostly in area of application development, we believe Kotlin/Native is better fit.
