is there any reason all the demos are using javafx-swing?

Hi, yes we translate svg elements to jfx scene shapes manually. The other option is to use apache Batik. In this case we can do without Jfx. I can add Batik-based examples if this helps. (?)

Absolutely, we are going to maintain jvm plots with jfx graphics as well as Batik-based. As soon as we switch to the latest Batik version I'll share the demos.
