Playing with IntelliJ's new UI - any one know if it's possible to bring back some buttons at the top of the screen? For instance I use "Back" a lot and miss it (I should totally use the keyboard instead but old habits...)
oh found it! Right click on one of the buttons (not the empty area!) then Customize toolbar
t
I litterally did a bug report for that as well 🤣
b
yeah it's kind of an useful button 😛
t
here is how i fixed it: Settings->Appearance & Behavior -> Menus and Toolbars Open "Main Toolbar Center" pless "+" -> add action Choose from "Main Menu" -> Navigate -> Back Choose from "Main Menu" -> Navigate -> Forward

I have never taken the time to memorize shortcuts, but I use the "back" and "forward" buttons on my mouse quite a lot.

Same.. I never realised it, but depending on the kind of mode my brain is in i either use the mouse or the buttons :S

alas I use an Apple trackpad and "scroll left to go back" (like on a browser) doesn't work on IJ 😞
e
huh. I don't think I've ever used the toolbar or mouse buttons for that, only keyboard shortcuts
b
you're a wise person 😛
