I do see that you're referring to the blog post from over 2 years ago. There have been a lot of changes since (and that's an understatement). I'd recommend also checking out the readme (https://github.com/Kotlin/kotlin-spark-api), examples (https://github.com/Kotlin/kotlin-spark-api/tree/release/examples/src/main/kotlin/org/jetbrains/kotlinx/spark/examples) and extensive wiki (https://github.com/Kotlin/kotlin-spark-api/wiki) 🙂 Lot's of up-to-date stuff there
