What is the current state of art for Kotest on Kotlin 1.7 and 1.8?

I am getting issues with Kotlin 1.8.0 on JS and I checked that Kotest is using Kotlin 1.6.21. I have seen that there is a stale branch for 1.7.20 which has not be updated for months.
