Thanks for the answer. I mean I'm pretty happy with using the companion object. Just was wondering why the intention tooling isn't there, and was wondering then if factory methods in companion objects are not a thing... But they are a kotlinny way of doing this , aren't they? I often prefer static factory methods over constructors (in Java)
