On a related note for those familiar with image files: What are your thoughts on the future adoption of HEIC?
While most smartphones technically support HEIF/HEIC, it's often disabled by default, and many apps still lack compatibility.
Upon delving deeper into the subject, it becomes apparent that HEIC is quite intricate. Its complexity surpasses that of JPEG, and personally, I find it less developer-friendly.
From a developer's perspective, my preferred format is PNG. It boasts a straightforward structure and great flexibility. I can't help but question the need for the creation of a complex ISO format like HEIC when we already had PNG with its well-structured simplicity.
