Just wanted to say that I've played with Fleet for several days now, both trying it out as an IDE for a very popular Android app (instead of Android Studio) and using it for editing a Kotlin multi-platform pet project. I really love it so far! It has some issues, sure, but it's looking very promising and already very usable. ❤️

Great to hear you're enjoying Fleet, thanks for sharing that!
We're also happy to hear your feedback/issues, either here or on the YouTrack project.

Would be great to understand your experience with Android dev there versus in Android Studio!

It's a bit too early to tell but I am writing up some notes for myself (and coworkers). Mostly I'm just impressed that it "just works", for the most part. I think my only significant annoyance, which is more of a general nature rather than Android specific, is that I can't select text blocks while dragging downwards (it stops scrolling at end of editor) but I guess that's probably a known deficiency.

I have some good news for you, this is already in the internal nightly builds for 1.34, so you should get it in the next update 🙂

How's the cpu utilization for you? I opened our android monorepo and macbook got way hotter than does with AS.

I have a huge project and while I have not specifically looked at any metrics, I have not subjectively noticed any issues around the performance so far. My (M1) MacBook Pro never really gets hot or particularly slow no matter what. But it's early days and I still go back to Android Studio sometimes, so I'm not using it entirely full time (yet anyway).
