Fleet is very slow on my machine (MacBook Air M1, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD (lot of free). I don't run many programs at once, my laptop is in a cool place and not overheating. The project I'm working on is a simple Compose Multiplatform app. It's open-source and available at https://github.com/bartekpacia/opencaching. When I

in that project from the terminal, it takes about 5 minutes for importing, resolving symbols, etc. to finish, during which time Fleet is incredibly slow and laggy. However even after that, I still have the feeling that it is just slow and very heavyweight, even more so than IntelliJ IDEA. Basic functionality such as typing keystrokes is often laggy and doesn't provide good enough experience IMO. I don't think it's some specific issue. Overall I love Fleet and its vision to be the IDE of choice for Compose Multiplatform. I also understand it's in preview, so it's to be expected. I just want to provide yet another data point that performance is not satisfactory.

Thanks Bartek. We need to solve this. Cc @florian.kistner

@Bartek Pacia Thanks for the feedback! Could you please run the Collect Logs action after a long import and share your logs with us in a new YouTrack issue? That way we can double-check if we're already aware of the things that are causing your slow imports or if there's something else going on your machine as well.

Sure thing! Reported here

I'm not sure though how to report issues like this – completion takes 15 seconds to show up. This happens pretty often to me, I'm not sure if my case is somehow unique.
What machines are you using to develop Fleet? if you're all on some ultra beefed up Macs then maybe you should try "more traditional" M1/16GB RAM setup:P

@Bartek Pacia Thanks for the video, I'll look at issue with completion with my M1/32GB and also compare with smaller RAM

15 seconds for completion is definitely not normal performance, probably on any hardware, but especially not on an Apple Silicon machine. Hope we can do something to analyze that.

hey @Bartek Pacia, in the video I see there's a Desktop Preview running. Did you try selecting Android preview instead of Desktop? I think it might make things slightly better (you need Fleet 1.40+ for them to be available).

Hey, I did, I didn't really feel much difference
hey, fwiw, i work at the jetbrains amsterdam office now, and have the laptop with the project with me, so if anyone from Fleet team also works here I can just come and show the "slowness and unresponsiveness" problem of Fleet. (feel free to dm me)
