📣 📣 We merged 🤖 Android Studio Electric Eel 🐍 Canary 9 into intellij/master 📣 📣 We expect Android Plugin Updates to be in intellij faster from now on! Also: Android Studio Electric Eel Canary 9 finally seems to have pretty good support for Kotlin/Multiplatform. There were many, many issues fixed that lead to red code in Android Studio blob smile happy Merging hero: @andrei.kuznetsov

Amazing, does that mean this will be available to us with 2022.3 EAP 1?
s
Yes!
j
Really nice 😀
when is it going to be released?
s
Wow you did what! I never thought this day would’ve come. That’s simply amazing
s
when is it going to be released?
2022.3 EAP 1. I cannot share the official planned release, and it would not be that accurate to begin with, probably. You could probably estimate how long it will take us to release the first EAP here, by comparing it to previous releases!
j
Wow, amazing!! How to join the EAP plan~
s
You can download eaps using the JetBrains toolbox! 😎
j
seems there are all stable version here
How can I unlock the eap versions😆
s
There are currently no eap versions available 🙃 No eta, for when the first one arrives

Might be an odd question, but what are the specific upsides here for AS users and IntelliJ users? I'm wondering as I've been developing apps with AS and KMM for a year now without any major hickups.
s
Glad to hear, that you did not have major hickups! I think some users were in other situations: They would like to use newer Android features and therefore were forced to use AS, however AS did not support multiplatform as well. Now switching between AS and IJ should be simpler!
