Does that changes anything for Fleet as a product?...

This is primarily about KMP IDE. We don’t have any updates regarding Fleet itself.

thanks for the info, sad to heart the news on no-fleet KMP but I understand the decision. I hope Fleet will stay on it's course because the promise of it is great, sadly I couldn't yet test it properly because of poor vim bindings support

@Hadi Hariri But the blog post mentions KMP support in Fleet will be deprecated. That's an important Fleet update. This means Fleet will be mostly for backend development and JS frontend. Anyways I think the community/customers would love more transparency over Fleet's future/roadmap.

I’m believe this is something my colleagues from Fleet will address. cc @prigara

Hi everyone, no news on the Fleet side – we will keep regular releases of the Fleet preview builds.

Does this mean swift support in AS or IJ?
h
We are looking at providing Swift on the IJ platform, yes.

@prigara Yes what I was referring to is that the community/customers would like more openness and transparency in the communication around Fleet. A roadmap and a broader vision would be nice, even if not all the points in the list would be delivered. I think VSCode does this quite well. https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/wiki/Roadmap

@koufa thanks, noted. We’ll try to work on one in the nearest future.
gratitude thank you 4

i for one appreciate the transparency about kmp support being sunset in fleet. makes me feel less bad about using AS when i feel like i should be using fleet. but so many things in AS just work vs fleet. thank you team for the comms on this!

Re support for Swift in IJ: will it have the limitation of needing to run on macos for things like code navigation, find usages, etc...
h
Right now it's too early to comment on ,but we'll provide more info ASAP.

I do hope the kmp plugin for android studio gets some attention. i thought it was deprecated, especially since a few months ago the default changed to disable the plugin after you install it. so you have to install the plugin and then go out of your way to enable the plugin for it to actually be on (which is not how it worked in the past)
e
FWIW I've been using Android Studio for all of my KMP projects for years without the plugin and never had any issues. I don't even know what the plugin does 😅

You don't need to run MacOS to have code analysis. There is sourcekitd and SourceKit-LSP , both of which are cross-platform and open-source.

I was a huge fan of AppCode so that feels like good news.
